At Olney Dental Care we provide non-surgical facial treatments that reduce the appearance of wrinkles, plumps up the skin and rejuvenates the skin promoting a smoother and more youthful look. Our facial rejuvenation treatments are used to help soften wrinkles and define facial contours either by the careful use of Botox Ⓡ injections or injectable fillers.
We offer a range of facial treatments all carried out in our modern treatment environment many of which are not permanent. The advantage of such facial treatments is that the procedure can be reviewed at each appointment enabling the patient to change the amount of product used accordingly.
Before deciding to have any facial treatment it is important that we meet and discuss your requirements. You will be given advice about your individual concerns and an estimate of costs involved. Your consultation is for advice and information, and this is FREE.
BOTOX
Botox® is used to smooth and soften fine lines and wrinkles. It works by blocking the nerve impulses to the facial muscles. Crease lines and wrinkles such as crow’s feet and frown lines are part of the natural maturing process caused by a combination of aging, sun damage and the normal movement of the muscles in facial expression. Botox® injections are used to relax these facial muscles by preventing contraction and, in turn lines and wrinkles begin to soften giving you a younger looking complexion. This means that the overlying skin stays smoother and creases gradually diminish. The result is a more serene and youthful look.
If you have wrinkles or forehead lines you wish to reduce, then this treatment is likely to be the perfect option.
The treatment involves the use of a very fine needle to administer only a tiny amount of substance and takes only minutes to carry out. The effects may be seen within 48 to 72 hours although it takes up to two weeks for the full result to appear. Although it may vary from person to person, the results last around 3 months as treatment is not permanent. Before you leave the clinic at the end of your treatment, we will book you in for a free review 2 weeks later, so that we can assess the results of your treatment once it has taken full effect. DERMAL FILLERS
Whilst Botox® is generally for fine lines and wrinkles in the upper half of the face, dermal fillers are often used around the nose, lips, cheeks, and can be used to plump out the facial lines and increase the volume and hydration of the skin. The result is a smoother, firmer more youthful appearance.
Dermal fillers are naturally biodegradable and are therefore non-permanent. The effect lasts typically 6-9 months.
Dermal fillers can also be used:
- To define, enhance or enlarge lips
- To correct or enhance facial contours; cheeks, nose, and around the mouth.
- To soften and correct facial wrinkles or folds
- To improve the tone, texture and hydration of the skin.
Treatment usually involves the application of local anaesthetic cream to the treated area or a nerve block similar to a dental injection.The dermal filler is then comfortably injected into the treated area to fill out the line, wrinkle or fold. Some fillers contain an anaesthetic in them to help with any discomfort, if a nerve block has not been administered. UNDERARM SWEATING
Sweating is completely normal and necessary for the body to reduce heat. Severe, or excessive sweating is known as hyperhidrosis. Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis is caused by overactivity in the sweat glands which produces sweat in greater amounts than the body actually needs. Both men and women can be affected.
Botox® was approved by the FDA in 2004 for the treatment of severe underarm sweating, this condition is called primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Small doses of Botox® are injected into the underarm which temporarily block the nerves that stimulate sweating.
Within 10 days the full effects will be noticeable and sweating will have reduced. The procedure is simple and painless. The results can last for up to six months and will leave you feeling more confident and able to enjoy life without worrying about embarrassing damp armpits!

CHEMICAL PEELS
Over the years, your skin can gradually appear dull and lifeless. This can be caused by dead skin cells that accumulate and clog up your skin.
Chemical facial peels aim to remove the dead skin cells from the skins surface to allow new healthy skin cells to grow back creating smoother looking skin. They can help to reduce the signs of ageing, help improve sun-damaged skin, treat scars and blemishes and create healthier, firmer looking skin without the need for surgery.
Chemical peels gently remove the top layer or layers of skin using a chemical preparation.
This action loosens the “glue” that binds the dead and damaged cells causing exfoliation which in turn leads to the promotion of new cellular
growth and also helps induce collagen re-modelling. As the new skin grows back, it is normally smoother than before and imperfections are reduced.
There are various types of chemical peel – superficial, medium and deep. They achieve different results depending on your needs and recovery times vary.
